Karen Seiter, M.D.
Karen Seiter,
M.D., Director of the Adult Leukemia Service, came
to the group from Albert Einstein College of Medicine,
Mt. Sinai Medical Center and Memorial Sloan Kettering
Cancer Center where she gained invaluable experience
in the treatment of patients with acute leukemias, myelodysplasia
and other hematologic malignancies.
Dr. Seiter
has been recognized for five consecutive years in New
York’s “Best Doctors” listings.
Dr. Seiter serves as Vice Chairman of the Institutional
Review Board (Oncology Panel) at New York Medical College
where she is Professor of Medicine and leader of the
Oncology Fellowship Training Program.
As an attending
physician at Westchester Medical Center, Dr. Seiter
contributes to patient care improvements as oncology
advisor to the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee
and other quality improvement initiatives. She has been
awarded more than 25 grants to investigate the management
of hematologic malignancies. She has opened doors to
innovative therapies for patients with blood-related
cancers through her involvement in the design and conduct
of Phase I, II and III clinical trials. Dr. Seiter lectures
widely and has published over 100 papers and book chapters
on these topics. Dr. Seiter is fluent in English and
Spanish.
