Our Practice

WOHG doctors are all board-certified and specialize in cancer (oncology) and blood diseases (hematology). Our specialty practice began in 1983 when a group of talented oncologists from top U.S. academic medical facilities came together to practice cancer care and conduct research in Valhalla at Westchester Medical Center, the university affiliate of New York Medical College. Since then, WOHG has added vital services such as stem cell transplantation, blood transfusion and apheresis, and national clinical trials, establishing a recognized success record.

WOHG brings its expert cancer care to the entire Hudson Valley region, the Tri-State area and beyond, consulting on hundreds of new patients each year. We care for patients in five different hospitals and three ambulatory practice settings. Patients come from the New York metropolitan and Tri-State area and beyond; in fact, some patients come from distances as far as Europe and Asia.

WOHG is distinguished by a unique blend of academic and community medicine. We are both professors of medicine and community doctors – teaching new doctors how to apply the remarkable advances in cancer care to their practice as we care for our patients. We keep pace with rapidly emerging science to offer you the most current evidence-based treatment options. We go above and beyond the traditional “one size fits all” approach by delivering treatment and care that is not only up-to-date but also innovative and personally customized to your molecular and genetic make-up.

WOHG doctors are concerned about your special needs and personal desires and make that part of the plan. We do not rely on go-betweens or substitute doctors to see our patients. We confer directly with you and your internist or referring physician. Most importantly, we see you as the most critical member of the cancer care team and build a treatment plan together with you.
